2018 New York Auto Show： US version of the new Corolla iM released

　　A few days ago, Toyota officially released the new generation of Corolla iM model (US version) at the 2018 New York Auto Show. The car is different from the new Auris unveiled at the 2018 Geneva Auto Show in details. It is also based on Toyota’s latest TNGA architecture. It is reported that this car will arrive in the US market in the summer.

　　Since the Scion brand was delisted in the North American market, the Scion iM has been renamed the Corolla iM and continues to be sold. The latest generation of the Corolla iM is built with the latest TNGA architecture, with an increased overall body size, with length, width and height of 4369/1791/1438mm and a wheelbase of 2639mm. The new Corolla iM, like the new Auris, is dominated by Toyota’s latest family-style design concept and has a more aggressive and sporty appearance.

　　In terms of details, the engine hatch design of the new car is about 5cm lower than the previous generation model, in order to improve the field of vision ahead. The new cars are equipped with LED front and rear light sets, but the LED headlights used in high-end models are more advanced and can be automatically adjusted. In terms of body color, the new car is available in a variety of colors including silver, black and blue.

　　Further than the new Auris, the new Corolla iM unveils the true face of this generation of Corolla interiors. The 8-inch floating multimedia display in the center of the console is very eye-catching (supports Apple CarPlay), which is more technological than the previous generation model. The style of the three-spoke multi-function steering wheel has also been optimized, and the interior highlights the current popular simple and fashionable style. In terms of configuration, the new car will be equipped with the Toyota Safety Sense safety system suite, including lane keeping, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and pedestrian pre-collision systems.

　　Due to the new TNGA architecture, the official said that the NVH of the new car has been greatly improved compared with the previous generation model. In terms of power, the new car is equipped with a 2.0L gasoline engine, and the transmission system is matched with the latest CVT transmission (K120) and 6-speed manual transmission (EG60). However, the official has not yet announced the detailed parameters of this engine, which is expected to have a maximum power of 171 horsepower (169hp) and a peak torque of 205 Nm.
