Located in Huizhou City, Guangdong Province, a "studio" collects more than 2,300 mobile phone numbers and micro-signals from many places in the country, and rents them to overseas fraud gangs to help them implement fraud under the guise of refunding fees and swiping bills. Hunan police recently destroyed this den, and six suspects were criminally detained.
According to the notification of the Linwu County Public Security Bureau of Hunan Province on September 19, in August this year, the Linwu County Public Security Bureau detected a case of renting mobile phone numbers and micro-signals to online fraud gangs for profit. By digging deep and expanding the line, the police found that the case was active in Huizhou area, and the main suspect was Xia Moumou. On September 5, the police arrested six suspects, including Xia Moumou, in a community in Huizhou, and seized 7 computers and 30 mobile phones.
After review, in August 2021, Xia Moumou rented two houses in Huizhou to form.
"Studio", recruiting 5 people as responsible persons and salesmen. The salesman docked with the "number merchants" all over the country and rented the collected mobile phone numbers and micro-signals to overseas fraud gangs. Overseas fraud gangs contact the victims and commit fraud under the guise of tuition refund, recruitment, and rebate.
As of the time of the incident, the police verified that more than 150 "number merchants" provided more than 2,300 mobile phone numbers and micro-signals to Xia’s "studio", and Xia’s gang made a profit of more than 4 million yuan.
